'Red Dead Redemption 2' Rumors: September Release Date Listed by Retailer

Official release window for 'Red Dead Redemption 2' still set within the coming fall season

"Red Dead Redemption 2" has still not been given an exact release date at this point in time, or at least not officially, though retailers have previously listed different possible days for when that eagerly anticipated launch could take place.

There is even a new retailer-listed release date that is drawing plenty of attention recently for a few reasons.

The retailer in question is Base and the specific release date listed for the sequel is Sept. 26.

At first glance, this recently discovered retailer-listed release date does not seem to be that noteworthy or accurate, but it may be one worth at least keeping in mind.

First, as ThisGenGaming pointed out in a report, Base listing a Sept. 26 release date for "Red Dead Redemption 2" seems unusual given that other notable titles that have also yet to be provided with exact release dates by their developers have been given placeholders.

Specifically, the report noted that Dec. 31 seems to be the preferred placeholder date for games with no exact release dates, and it is unclear why a different one has been attached to the next "Red Dead Redemption" title.

Furthermore, Sept. 26 also being a Tuesday also works to make the release date included in the Base listing just a bit more believable since this is when games are typically released in the U.S., as RDR2.com noted.

So is Sept. 26 really the day when fans can expect to get their hands on "Red Dead Redemption 2?"

Unfortunately, since this is a Rockstar game being talked about, the answer to that question likely will not be made available until the developers decide themselves that they are ready to share that announcement.

More news about "Red Dead Redemption 2" and when this game may finally be released for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One should be made available in the near future.
