'Resident Evil 7' Rumor: Will Game Arrive Anytime Soon?

Since the announcement of "Resident Evil 7" in October last year, no substantial news about the upcoming game has been made available to the public. However, the latest news is that Capcom may release "Resident Evil 7" anytime soon, despite the earlier reports that the game developer is experiencing a great deal of difficulties in coming up with something new it can offer to the gamers.

Yibada reported that, if rumors are to be believed, "Resident Evil 7" may be unveiled in this year's Electronic Entertainment Exposition (E3) trade show. The website noted that during an interview with the Japanese magazine Dengeki Playstation via Siliconera, "Resident Evil" producer Masachika Kawata ignited the excitement of the fans after declaring that they have to prepare themselves for "Resident Evil 7" and added:

"We're currently not at a state to talk about it... but please stay tuned."

Addressing the "Resident Evil 6" criticisms, especially on its having heavy gunplay and insufficient setting and tension as compared to its predecessors, Kawata said that she understands gamers' perception since there are many spinoff titles for the game. However, she hinted that they might just produce titles that would bring more horror to the game.

Meanwhile, some expert gamers and "Resident Evil" fans opined that "Resident Evil 7" should return to its roots wherein it featured horror scenes with survival gameplay. Bitbag, for instance, noted that while "Resident Evil" movies have become popular, unfortunately, they seemed to have influenced Capcom to some extent. One of the movie versions' influence on Capcom, Bitbag pointed out, is the kicking out of Raccoon City from the game, which was one of the favorite settings of the gamers.

If rumors are to be believed, it seems that the fans and Capcom are thinking on the same wavelength as "Resident Evil 7" is speculated to bring back Raccoon City.

Whether this rumor turns out to be more than just a rumor, fans can only wait and see until the game is finally unveiled---who knows exactly when.
