'Revenge' Season 4 Spoilers: Emily Meets New Love Interest

"Revenge" will not return to ABC until this fall, but fans are already wondering what is in store for Emily Thorne on season four.

During the season three finale, Emily (portrayed by Emily VanCamp) lost some of those closest to her. However, according to spoilers about season four, new characters could prove to me important in Emily's life, including a new love interest.

"He's a childhood friend of Jack's who has a touch of PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) from his military days," a TV insider at TVLine said of addition to the cast of characters.

"He decides to make his short-term visit to the Hamptons permanent after something life-changing happens to Jack, then makes fast friend with a number of the locals, including Em," the source added.

While Emily may be introduced to a new love interest, the main character will also be "shaken to her core" learning a huge surprise during season four- her father, James Tupper, is alive. James' death was the motivating factor behind her quest for revenge on the television series, and when Emily realizes he is alive, it will have a strong effect on her.

"It's hard to introduce new characters who don't have a past history with Emily, but will make her invest as much in their character," said executive producer Aaron Harberts, according to TVLine. "As we looked back, [actor] David [Clarke] seemed like someone who would shake an unshakable character to the core. She's certainly not predictable, but she's a machine and we know how she's going to react in certain situations, but we don't know how she's going to take it she finally sees her father."

Also, as previously reported, "Revenge" showrunner Sunil Nayar said that season four of the television series would be unlike any previous season.

"It's going to be a totally different show next season- a reincarnation," he told TV Guide.

"Revenge" season four is expected to premiere on ABC this September.
