'Rick and Morty' Season 3 Pokes Fun at Lengthy Waits for Other Coveted Pop Culture Materials

Exact release date for Season 3 of 'Rick and Morty' remains unavailable at this point

The wait for "Rick and Morty's" third season has been long and at times frustrating for fans. Although it's still ongoing, it's not like this is the only slice of coveted pop culture that dedicated fans have waited a long time for.

Recently, the show's official Twitter account even pointed out other specific pieces of pop culture that fans have had to endure longer waits for.

Earlier this month, a tweet from the show touched on how long fans have had to wait for the new "Game of Thrones" book, even urging author George R.R. Martin to "write faster."

More recently, the show's Twitter account was back at it again, noting that "Samurai Jack" is coming off its own lengthy hiatus.

Obviously, these tweets are just tongue-in-cheek comments from the folks behind the show meant to entertain fans and give them a few chuckles while they continue waiting for the third season of "Rick and Morty."

The fans appear to be very aware of this as well, and they have even come up with their own funny replies for those aforementioned tweets.

Still, as much as some fans have seemingly enjoyed interacting with the show's Twitter account, they would likely prefer to learn an exact release date for Season 3 instead. And unfortunately, that valuable bit of information remains unavailable for now.

As an earlier report from Inverse pointed out, there's a chance that the new episodes may finally be made available next month, at least going by what showrunners have hinted at previously. However, there are still no new indicators that this will be happening.

At the very least, fans can take heart knowing that the showrunners appear to be keenly aware of just how long they have had to wait for Season 3. And hopefully, that will mean that new episodes of "Rick and Morty" will be released sooner rather than later.
