'Rick and Morty' Season 3 News, Spoilers: Pocket Mortys Well-Received by Fans; Will Pocket Mortys Be Included in New Season?

"Pocket Mortys" has been well-received by fans, and because of that, many wonder if its popularity is enough for the new game from Adult Swim Games to be included in "Rick and Morty" season 3.

The game, which was designed by Big Pixel Studios, allows players to select several variations of Mortys and train them, according to Ecumenical News. The player will steer Rick in the game, can battle other players and their Ricks, using their "trained" and "leveled up" Mortys. The game is pretty much like any other "Pokemon" game, hence the title "Pocket Mortys."

According to iDigital Times, the game was well-received based on the reviews in the Apple App Store, and was popular enough to gather a "rapturous" reception on Twitter. The website said that there may be few elements from the "Pokemon" parody game that may be brought into the new season of the animated series.

The report said that one of the additions could be the return of the Council of Ricks, as well as the variations of Ricks and Mortys from different dimensions. These are all just speculations from fans, since until now, there is still no confirmed plot details from the showrunners of "Rick and Morty."

Dan Harmon, one of the co-creators of the show, mentioned during the San Diego Comic-Con hat they aim to expand the show's universe further. "There was a heavy impulse in Season 2 to not call anything back from Season 1," he added. Whether the show will stick to the plan or bring back the Council of Ricks from the first season, the creators are still keeping every season 3 details under wraps.

"Rick and Morty" is rumored to be released in 2017.
