Amanda Righetti's son has been born, and "The Mentalist" star couldn't be happier. Knox Addison Alan was born Jan. 10 to two overjoyed parents, according to reports.

Righetti's son was born, a representative for the actress told People, and a picture of the tiny baby was given to the magazine to run. Sources say the parents are very happy indeed.

"She is very excited and feeling great," a friend of the couple told People magazine at the time of the birth last Thursday. "They are going to keep the gender of the baby a surprise!"

Amanda Righetti and husband Jordan Alan first revealed that they were pregnant back in August of last year, but were scarce on the details back then as well. Perhaps to avoid further inquiry into the child, they chose not to disclose the baby's gender until the birth.

The 29-year-old stars on CBS show "The Mentalist" as Grace Van Pelt, the newest member of the crime drama cast. The show involves an admittedly fake psychic who uses his powers of seduction to help solve various crimes. Righetti also previously appeared in "Reunion," "The O.C.," "Friday the 13th," and "Captain America: The First Avenger."

Jordan Alan, 45, is successful in his own right as well as a producer, writer, and director. He has worked on various projects, including "Kiss & Tell," "Pipeline," and "Cats Dancing on Jupiter."

The couple married in April of 2006 in Hawaii, and chose several years to wait and have children.

They certainly aren't the only celebrity couple who waited to have children. "Avengers" star Jeremy Renner is reportedly expecting his first child at age 42 with an ex-girlfriend of his.

"They used to date but it wasn't serious," a source told Us Weekly of the mother of Renner's child. Renner is apparently being "ultra-secretive about it … but she has been going on about her life and not hiding it."

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in a similar situation, with the 35-year-old rapper and 32-year-old reality star expecting their first child as well.
