Chris Brown is set to celebrate his birthday on May 5 and a new report claims Rihanna is going all out for the special occasion.

On February 20 Brown, 23, reportedly treated Rihanna with a romantic trip to Hawaii to mark her 25th birthday and the Bajan singer is also said to be planning a lavish gift for Brown. Sources claim Rihanna has spent over $1 million on a limited edition 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss.

"Rihanna has spent more than a million dollars on his main gift — a custom-made car," a source told Naughty But Nice Rob. "She's had his initials put on the red leather seats."

Rihanna is reportedly scheduled to perform in New York City on Brown's birthday and she is said to be hoping that he will travel to the Big Apple to be with her.

"Chris treated her so bomb and surprised her with his presence when she turned 25, she wants to be with him badly when he turns 24," a source told HollywoodLife.com adding that for Brown's party "Rihanna's got a few things up her sleeve."

The report comes just one day after Brown's father spoke out against the young couple. Clinton Brown, 48, believes that his son is better off with a more "conservative" star like Jordin Sparks.

"I personally liked Jordin Sparks. She's a wholesome young lady, very pretty. Of course, a lot of the times we don't want the nice, conservative types," Clinton told The Sun UK.

Brown dated Los Angeles based model Karrueche Tran, 24, for two years after his infamous 2009 split from Rihanna and Clinton revealed that he approved of their union saying the pair got on "terrifically" when they were together unlike his relationship with Rihanna.

Brown and Rihanna parted ways after he admittedly assaulted her in 2009, however four years later they reconciled.
