Robert Pattinson Laughs Off 'Indiana Jones' Movie Rumors in New Interview (VIDEO)

Robert Pattinson recently denied reports claiming her will play Indiana Jones in a new series.

Last week a U.K. tabloid claimed the British actor, 28, was in the running to potentially replace Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones, in a new series of Disney adventure films. A separate report also claimed he was being considered to star in a new film based on the "Star Wars" character Han Solo however both are said to be false.

"I swear people just do that so I get bad press afterwards," Pattinson joked in an interview with MTV.

"I didn't even know they were rebooting it," he explained before reiterating, "no [it's false]."

The "Twilight" star has had a busy year juggling various projects and he was recently spotted at the 67th Cannes Film festival promoting his films "The Rover" and "Maps To The Stars."

In addition to fulfilling promotional rounds, Pattinson has been filming his forthcoming movie "Life" in Los Angeles in recent months.

As always, fans remain more interested that ever in the actor's personal life one year after his split from Kristen Stewart. Despite being notoriously guarded about his love life, Pattinson recently revealed that the "Clouds of Sils Maria" actress is still very much a part of his life.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson was asked whether he still keeps in contact with his "Twilight" co-star he replied "oh, yeah," the website reported.

The revelation delighted "Twilight" fans, who have been holding out for a reconciliation between the pair for several months however insiders maintain that Pattinson and Stewart, 24, have no plans to get back together.

"Rob is beyond ready to cut the cord with Kristen," a source close to Rob told HollywoodLife.com.

"They were definitely in love, but the relationship has run it's course and he is ready to move on," the source explained.
