Heart-throb Robert Pattinson has revealed in a recent interview to promote his new film "Bel Ami" while he loves his fans, he can't relate to their obsession for him.

In the interview at the Berlin International Film Festival, where hundreds of screaming fans waited in the freezing cold for hours just catch a glimpse of him, Pattinson admits that he is "bewildered by his global fame."

"I mean people come from Thailand to stand in the cold air. I can't relate on any level but it's definitely very nice," he said.

In spite of not understanding why his "Twilight" fans like him so much to stand for hours in the cold for him, he does understand the important role they have played in his success. The star said that he is counting on their support when he experiments with different roles like in his new film "Bel Ami," and says the worst thing he could do by them is being afraid of trying new things.

"The biggest disservice you can do to your audience is trying to repeat the same thing and get them to come just to get money or whatever," he said.

"But if people are interested in what you are doing, then if you try and do interesting films on interesting subjects, then I think it's great."

Pattinson says having a mostly female fan base definitely has its benefits. "It's been strange having a pretty much single-sex audience all the time, but it's been great" he said. "They've been incredibly loyal."

In his new movie "Bel Ami," Pattinson stars as a 19th century poor but attractive Parisian social climber who sleeps his way to the top, seducing a number of powerful Parisian women played by Christina Ricci, Kristin Scott Thomas and Uma Thurman.

"It's basically like being a reality TV star -- he found a loophole in life and is making money by basically doing nothing," he said.

Pattinson, 25, said his role in the film allowed him the pleasure of experiencing romancing women of all ages.

"Hmmm older women or younger women…I get my cake and eat it too basically. They both have their good sides," he said.
