Robin Roberts Shares Photos From Hawaii Vacation

Robin Roberts is on a vacation in Hawaii this week, taking a break from her anchor duties on "Good Morning America."

Fortunately for her fans, the 52-year-old anchor is still keeping "GMA" viewers updated on her activities via Twitter while on vacation on the Hawaiian island of Kona and Maui.

"Easy like a Sunday morning #AlohafromKona," Roberts first posted along with a photo of palm trees.

The next post read, "My chariot has arrived. #Kona#LovingVacation," and included a photo of Roberts standing beside a tourist bus.

"Peaceful way to end the day in Kona," Roberts later added. "Thanks for understanding that RR needs a lil R & R G'nite."

Roberts' vacation is well deserved; she has survived two very serious illnesses over the past five years. First, in 2007, the "GMA" anchor overcame breast cancer.

Then, just last year, Roberts announced having a rare blood and bone-marrow disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome, or MDS. The anchor began her medical leave of absence last summer and underwent a bone marrow transplant in September, and was able to make a full recovery.

Roberts returned to "GMA" on Feb. 20 and received a warm welcome from the crew as well as her many fans.

"I'm excited to re-join my wonderful 'GMA' family," the 51-year-old penned in a personal letter posted to the website for "GMA" at the time.

"I'm also looking forward to thanking YOU… for your many prayers and well wishes," added Roberts. "Your compassion has been an enormous source of comfort to me and my family."

Meanwhile, more recent tweets from Roberts include additional photos from her vacation.

On Friday, Roberts posted: "Dear friends out on the water in Maui… comforting being surrounded by so much love."

"Just another day in Maui paradise. A blessed Sunday to all, XO," Roberts added on Sunday along with a photo of a sunny beach scene.
