Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' Hits No. 1 Spot in the UK

Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" became his first No. 1 song in the British singles chart, becoming the fastest selling track on 2013.

The R&B singer, and son of actor Alan Thicke, sold 190,000 copies during its first week, bumping British rapper Naughty Boy's track "La La La" to the number two spot.

"It is an honor and a pleasure to be number one in the UK. It's something I've always dreamed of," Thicke told the Official Charts Company.

The song featuring hip-hop artists T.I. and Pharrell Williams, was only Thicke's second time charting in the U.K. Previously he only hit as high as No. 11 with 2007's "Lost Without U."

The 36-year-old created a little controversy with the music video for "Blurred Lines" because of his use of nude models in the video. The video garnered over a million views on Vevo in just a few days.

"The album is called Blurred Lines. I've realized as I've gotten older that we all think we're living either in a black or white world, or on a straight path, but most of us are living right inbetween those straight lines. And everything you thought you knew, the older you get, you realize, I don't know nothing about this. I better pay attention, I better listen and keep learning.' So I think that, that's what I've been realizing these past few years," he said on Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club."

Thicke has released seven albums since 2003 and has written for many artists including Jordan Knight and Christian Aguilera.

He's won a Soul Train award for "R&B/Soul Album, Male," and a VH1 Soul/VIBE Awards "Breakthrough Artist of the Year," both in 2007.

He is currently married to actress Paula Patton since 2005 and they have one child together.
