Rollins Faces Her Fugitive Sister And Attends Her Baby Shower In Next Episode Of 'Law & Order: SVU'
Actress Kelli Giddish's pregnancy is being incorporated into Season 17 of "Law & Order SVU" in an exciting way when it was revealed that Murphy is the father of Amanda Rollins' child. The next title is named 'Maternal Instincts' as the episode will have a pregnant Amanda Rollins dealing with her mother and her sister. Mike Dodd enters the squad.
The official synopsis of this forthcoming episode is as follows: "Rollins' (Kelli Giddish) mother Beth (Madsen) throws her a baby shower while the SVU reports to a four-star hotel where a famous violinist was raped by her colleague, Anton Krasnikov (guest star Zach McGowan). With no memory of the crime, Anton claims a hired escort drugged and robbed him, and evidence leads to the shocking return of Rollins' fugitive sister Kim (guest star Lindsay Pulsipher). Meanwhile, Sgt. Mike Dodds (guest star Andy Karl) arrives for his first day at SVU."
In the promo of the trailer released for this episode, Amanda Rollins is in a tense mood as she realizes that the culprit shown in the video grab is none other than her sister. Viewers will recall Rollins having family problems in the previous seasons and it would be better if she stayed away from her mother. In this episode, Rollins has to deal with both her sister and her mother. As Rollins watches her sister in a criminal act in the video grab, she hopes her sister will not do the criminal act. But it does happen and a pregnant Rollins will have to deal with this situation too in the forthcoming episode.

The previous episode featured the controversial story about police shooting unarmed suspects, especially suspects with dark skin, that mirror real life incidents. It is a matter of opinion whether Law & Order: SVU Season 17 Episode 5 showed this in a proper light. In this episode, everybody is moralistic and support their colleagues. Poor Barba is condemned for being disloyal and a grand jury is convened because an unarmed individual got shot by some cops due to a misunderstanding.
The nice surprise is that Declan Murphy is the father of Rollins' baby. Both go way back when Murphy saved Rollins' from the gambling incident. It's good to see him return after his undercover work. Many had thought that Murphy was more of a mentor and guide to Amanda Rollins. But maybe Rollins' needs someone firm to deal with the crisis in the next episode that involves her own sister.
