Ronda Rousey vs Amanda Nunes: Rowdy Going to Fight for Lost Bantamweight Title; Schedule and Fighters' Background

In a bid to take back lost title, Ronda Rousey will have to Face Amanda Nunes

UFC's most popular female fighter and all-time favorite, Ronda Rousey, is going to make a comeback come December. The jinxed fans will now have something to look forward to aside from Christmas and New Year as Rousey is set to step back inside the Octagon to take back her lost Bantamweight title she's held down for more than three years and lorded over other female fighters before it was snatched by Holly Holm just a year ago.

Wants belt back

In an interview, the 29-year-old female champion said she wants her belt back. And to do just that, Rousey will have to face Amanda Nunes in the MMA arena, and once more fight to the death to win back the title. Holm has long since been defeated by Tate, the title passed more than twice before coming to Nunes.

Nunes, who was UFC's first openly gay competitor and champion, snagged the belt from Tate by submission on the first round. In an interview Tate casted her comment on the Nunes-Rousey fight saying, "We all saw that obviously Amanda has incredible power with her right hand — so if she hits Ronda with one of those, I could see it being a huge problem for Ronda. A big, big problem."

Who is Rousey's opponent?

Nunes is a Brazilian mixed martial artist also known for her quick victories, knocking out opponents in seconds after the first ring of the bell. She held down five consecutive winning streaks before becoming the Bantamweight champion that catapulted her to fame.

It can be recalled that Rousey was not able to fight last July because she had to go through another surgery after the severe injuries she took when Holm delivered a head-kick and several high-powered punches. The cancellation of her fight disappointed fans who were very much excited to see her fight once more.

Heartbreaking loss

Rousey disappeared from the UFC scene after her unbelievable loss to Holm, but it never stopped the MMA superstar from appearing and guesting in several shows around the country. At one time, despite the slice of humble cake she just ate, she even said that she does not recognize Holm's win over her and that she is still undefeated.

We will have to see come 30th of December if Rousey still got what it takes to become the Bantamweight division champion for women. Will she be able to wrestle the title away from Nunes through submission as she often did with her opponent in the past?
