Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively Married in Surprise Ceremony

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively tied the knot in a simple ceremony Sunday night in South Carolina. The two had been dating for almost one year and had even bought a house together in New York, but the wedding came as a surprise to the public.

The couple were married at Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina and held a star-studded reception at the same location. While a DJ provided music for guests, a special performance by Florence Welch (lead singer of Florence and the Machine) topped off the evening.

Reynolds and Lively have had a whirlwind romance ever since stepping out in 2011, after working together on "Green Lantern." While neither publicly addressed the suspicions that they were, in fact, a couple, Lively finally opened up to "Marie Claire" about Reynolds.

"It's definitely attractive when a man can dress well," Lively explained.

Reynolds was previously married to actress Scarlett Johansson, but the couple divorced after two years.

Lively, meanwhile, has previously downplayed the extent of their relationship.

"I don't comment on my relationships," she told Allure magazine. "My anonymity is something I treasure. Wanting to be an actor and wanting to be famous are different."

Both Reynolds and Lively have a busy year ahead of them as they continue working on films and a TV series. Reynolds has four movies coming out in 2013, including "The Crood," "R.I.P.D.," "Turbo," and "Big Eyes."

Lively will continue playing the lead character of Serena on the CW's "Gossip Girl," which has its season premiere on October 8.
