Samsung Galaxy A8 Specs, Rumors: New Metal-Clad Handset to Pack 5.5-Inch Display, Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM

After years of sticking with its plastic cases and frames for years, Samsung finally decided to use a metal frame, and the first device to get that is the Galaxy Alpha. Since then, the Korean manufacturer has expanded the A series lineup to cater to consumers who want a premium-looking handset.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the Korean manufacturer is preparing the Galaxy A8, and it should be launched any time soon. In the report, the device made an appearance in benchmarking app GFXBench, revealing some of its specs.

Based on the leak, the unannounced Samsung handset will boast a 5.5-inch display, but would keep the resolution 'decent' at Full HD (1920 x 1080). Other alleged specs include a 2GB RAM, a Snapdragon 615 Chipset, Adreno 405 GPU, and user-acessible 12GB of internal memory.

The camera department features a 15MP or 16MP primary shooter that can capture 1080p clips, although there are no details yet about the front camera. Completing the alleged specs sheet include a fingerprint sensor, and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

While these specs seem close to reality, we still need to take these details with a pinch of salt, and wait until Samsung makes the official announcement. There are no announcement or availability details yet.
