Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date Set for Sept. 27, Pre-orders to Start Sept. 16

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date could be as early as Sept. 27.

The device is expected to launch on that date in Taiwan, according to a report from Taiwanese site ePrice. Pre-orders are slated to begin on Sept. 16.

The device's availability date will not be announced until the Samsung "Unpacked" event which is set to take place on Sept. 4 in Berlin, Germany. This will be the public's first look at the phablet and the company's Galaxy Gear smart watch.

The Taiwan launch could either be the same as the official launch in the U.S., or could be slightly after. Either way, it's safe to assume that most markets will get their hands on the Galaxy Note 3 before the end of next month.

The Galaxy Note 3 and next-generation iPhone will launch around the same time.

The phablet also recently showed up in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group's database over the weekend solidifying that its official release will take place in the very near future.

Bluetooth SIG oversees the Bluetooth standard and work to ensure that the thousands of devices that use the technology are compatible with each other. Manufacturers of Bluetooth devices are required to register their products in a public database. This normally happens right before a smartphone or tablet is launched.

The filing did not reveal any other new information on the handset at this time.

Rumored specifications for the device include a 5.68-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with 1920x1080 resolution, a 1.8GHz octa-core Exynos 5420 processor, ARM Mali-T628 MP6, a 13-megapixel camera, LTE connectivity, microSD support, 16/32/64GB of storage, Android 4.3, JellyBean and a 3200mAh battery and 3GB of RAM. Other reports claim the Galaxy Note 3 will come with a Snapdragon 800 processor instead.
