Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs Nokia Lumia 1520 Review: Comparison of Specs, Features

It's a battle of the phablets as we pit the Samsung Note 3 against Nokia's Lumia 1520. With Samsung already established as one of the best phablet manufacturers around, it's intriguing to find out how Nokia, which has just started making bigger devices, is going to fare against Samsung's device.

Design:
When it comes to design, the Lumia 1520 has an edge over the Galaxy Note 3 as Samsung is sticking to its very traditional and somewhat repetitive design. The Lumia 1520 is more stylish and modern and has more color options, whereas the Note 3 has a more classic appearance due to its faux leather casing.

The Note 3 is more compact at 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm versus the Lumia's 162.8 x 85.4 x 8.7 mm. The Samsung phone is also much lighter at 168 grams, while the Lumia 1520 weighs 209 grams.

For better pictures, the Nokia Lumia might have an advantage over the Note 3 as it has a higher resolution at 20MP compared to the Samsung phone's 13MP camera. But the Note 3 has a better front facing camera at 2MP versus the Lumia's 1.2 MP camera.

Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 800 processors, but the Lumia runs on Window 8, while the Samsung phone runs on Android 4.3.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is available in black, white, and blush pink and costs $900 without contract, while the Nokia Lumia 1520 comes in white, yellow, red, or black and costs $750 with no contract.
