Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Rumors, Specs: There Will Be No 'Edge' Version of the Upcoming Note

For the past few months, a lot of people have believed that Samsung will launch two types of Galaxy Notes during the IFA event in Berlin this September. Considering that the Korean manufacturer has announced two flagship-level devices in its previous press events, it could have unveiled another duo later this year.

However, a new report debunks that rumor, claiming that Samsung would only announce a single Galaxy Note smartphone at the IFA showcase.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the rumor states that the Galaxy Note 5 will be alone in its niche, which means there will be no Edge variant this time around.

The rumor came from Chinese website sq.qq.com, which claims that instead of the Galaxy Note 5 Edge, Samsung will announce a Galaxy S6 Plus Edge instead. There may not be a lot of differences in terms of design or look, but the Galaxy S6 Plus Edge will reportedly feature "fewer" tricks than the Galaxy Note Edge that was announced last year.

While the Galaxy Note Edge's curved display shows some features like "running apps," "favourite apps," RAM and data usage, etc., the dual curved edges of the Galaxy S6 Edge are apparently more inclined on the design and aesthetics part of the smartphone.

So for the rumored Galaxy S6 Plus Edge, the smartphone should be around the same display size as the Galaxy Note 5, but with fewer features. Of course, all of these are mere speculations, so we better take these news with a pinch of salt.
