Samsung Galaxy S3 Picture Surfaces, Device Includes 8MP Camera

An image recently surfaced on the internet that displays the backing of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone.

This picture shows the top half of the backing of the device which reveals that the Galaxy S3 will include an 8-megapixel camera.

The smartphone is expected to debut sometime in June. However, current rumors suggest that Samsung employees are testing out the device, and this photo is said to have come from one of these workers.

The picture was originally uploaded by Picasa from a device with the model number GT-I9300. Recent speculation also suggests that GT-I9300 will be the official model number for the Samsung Galaxy S3 when it is released. This could actually be the first real photo of the handset to surface.

Other facts that can be derived from the picture is that it has a 3264x2448 resolution, so if it was taken with another Galaxy S3, then the device's camera is at least 8.1-megapixels making it slightly more powerful than its predecessor.

Last week a rumor surfaced regarding the body of the Galaxy S3 stating that it would be made from ceramic material. This information came from the Twitter account of industry insider Eldar Murtazin.

"SGS3 finalized and go to producton," tweeted Murtazin last week. "Pre-orders from operators/retailers are really highest for all Galaxy line history (finally-ceramic)."

Other recent rumors state that the Galaxy S3 will feature a 4.8-inch high definition Super AMOLED display with 4G LTE connectivity. It is also supposed to be extremely thin.

Samsung did officially confirm that the Galaxy S3 will definitely launch before the end of the first half of this year.
