Samsung Unveils Two New ATIV Laptops

Samsung has unveiled two new laptops that will target both the consumers who prefer the traditional laptop and those who want the convertible-hybrid device: the ATIV Book 9 Pro and ATIV Book 9 Spin.

The two new Samsung laptops run on the powerful Intel Core i7 processor, but they are not the same. The ATIV Book 9 Pro is a conventional laptop, and the ATIV Book 9 Spin is a convertible-hybrid laptop, according to The News Independent.

Customers may find the ATIV Book 9 Pro a bit bulkier compared to its hybrid counterpart because of its 14.2 x 9.83 x 0.7-inch dimensions and 4.45-pound weight. But it has the Intel Core i7 6700 HQ chip, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M graphic card and will work with the new Windows 10 OS, making it suitable for power users, The Next Digit reports.

In addition, the ATIV Book 9 Pro boasts of a 15.6-inch screen with a 3,840 x 2,160 4K resolution and HDR enhancement for optimizing contrast and brightness. The new Samsung laptop bears three USB 3.0 ports, a 4K HDMI port, a USB-C port, and an SD card reader.

The ATIV Book 9 Spin, on the other hand, runs on the Intel Core i7 6500OU chip. Although the other Samsung laptop has a more powerful processor, this hybrid device's processor has been upgraded with Intel HD Graphics. The 2-in-1 device is also lighter with a weight of 2.87 pounds and dimensions 12.39 x 8.69 x 0.59 inches, the report details.

The convertible-hybrid Samsung laptop has a 360-degree dual hinge for switching to either Tablet or Tent mode. It boasts of a 13.3-inch quad-HD display with a resolution of 3,200 x 1,800 pixels. It comes with three USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI port, and a microSD card reader, the report relays.

The two new Samsung laptops have 265 GB solid-state drives and 8 GB of RAM. Both devices are also powered by batteries that will last for at least 7 hours, the report adds.

Starting this month, customers can begin purchasing the two new devices from Samsung stores or Best Buy. The ATIV Book 9 Pro comes with a basic price tag of $1,599 and the ATIV Book 9 Spin costs $1,399.
