On the other hand, the 49ers have a 1-2 record and are the same with division rivals the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks in the tough NFC West.

Both teams are coming off losses, so look for both to try and get a win to close out the preseason.

The Chargers met the Seahawks at Qualcomm Stadium. In front of over 58,000 fans, it was a close match-up and was decided by a Steven Hauschka field goal with only 16 seconds remaining in the game.

In the 16-15 loss, San Diego led early but found themselves chasing the Seahawks throughout most of the game.

They finally took the lead back midway in the fourth quarter but the defence could not stop the Seahawks from getting into a good field position for Hauschka to drain a 60-yard field goal attempt.

That was the Chargers' first loss of the preseason in a match where they made a decent statement to get the victory.

As for the Niners, they also fell short against the Denver Broncos when they met at the Sports Authority Field.

Almost 80,000 fans were in attendance as the Broncos led early with Brandon McManus kicking a field goal to take a 3-0 lead at the end of the first.

Colin Kaepernick was sacked in the 2nd to give the Broncos a 5-0 lead before Phil Dawson finally put the Niners on the board with a field goal to close the first half.

It was a better third quarter as Corey Acosta converted two field goals to give San Francisco a 9-8 lead, but they could not muster any more offence as they fell 19-12.
