Vanessa Loses Patience With Olivia in ABC's 'Scandal'

Vanessa (Jessalyn Gilsig) is ready to declare war against her husband's lover in the upcoming episode of "Scandal."

In the episode titled "They All Bow Down," the promo shows that Vanessa and Olivia (Kerry Washington) will have an explosive showdown over Jake (Scott Foley). It looks like Vanessa has finally had enough of the fixer manipulating things between her and her husband, and when she snaps, she makes sure that the entire nation will know. The teaser shows Vanessa throwing something at Jake in front of so many people. Olivia is there to witness the entire thing. She tries to stop Vanessa and save Jake from further embarrassment, but it is too late.

Olivia's plan of making them look like the perfect political couple is quickly going down the drain. Vanessa has apparently given up. She does not care if others see her looking like a mess. When the two women eventually face off, Vanessa tells Olivia, "My husband's w**** is in my face right now!" Olivia retaliates by pushing Vanessa and ominously ordering her to keep talking.

The confrontation is something that viewers are expecting to happen. Ever since Jake lost the elections to Cyrus (Jeff Perry), everything started to fall apart for the Ballards. Vanessa is definitely not happy that she lost her chance to become the wife of a powerful man.

Meanwhile, Cyrus has the difficult job of proving that he and Tom (Brian Letscher) did not kill Frankie (Ricardo Chavira). Last episode, he succeeded in overpowering the prison guard and was able to escape with his lover.

Perry recently talked to TVLine about his character's predicament. According to him, being in prison was the last straw for Cyrus. He never thought he would be in such a situation. For Cyrus, it was a painful eye-opener.

"He's thrown into absolute survival mode and disorientation. He's going to ask himself, 'How the h*** do I get out of this? Is there any getting out of this?' He's put in some really desperate circumstances," Perry told the media outlet.

He adds: "When we did the table read, we were really excited. This is an exploration of someone who has called himself a Republican overlord ... and now there's a great deal of dehumanization."

"Scandal" season 6 episode 5 will air Thursday, March 9 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
