"Scarface" actor Steven Bauer has been taken into custody in Miami, Florida for driving with a suspended license earlier this week.

Born Steven Earnest Echevarria, the 52-year-old was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail early Tuesday morning after being pulled over by police for taking an improper left turn, reported Fox News.

According to the arrest report, Bauer was stopped in Sweetwater late Monday night when police realized the actor's driver's license was suspended. Upon running the license, police found an open 12-year-old warrant.

No reports have indicated if the actor has an attorney.

Bauer appeared in "Scarface" as Manny Ribera, the best friend of the film's central character, Tony Montana, portrayed by Al Pacino. Bauer is also well known for his role on the bilingual PBS television series "Que Pasa, USA?"

From 1977 to 1979, Bauer portrayed the teenage son of a Cuban exile family in Miami.

Bauer has been married three times, including to actress Melanie Griffith, with whom he shares one son.

"Scarface" came out in 1983 and has become one of the most popular crime films in history. Directed by Brian De Palma, the film originally garnered mixed reviews for excessive violence and strong language.

The film also starred Michelle Pfeiffer, Pepe Serna, and Robert Loggia, among others.

Bauer is not the only "Scarface" star to undergo recent problems with the law. Just months ago, the actor's "Scarface" co-star Angel Salazar was arrested in New York City under suspicion of driving under the influence.

Furthermore, despite their successful careers, celebrities often make headlines for legal entanglements, including Amanda Bynes who was arrested for a driving accident.

Also among celebrities who have been arrested for breaking the law while driving is former Miss USA Rima Fakih, who was arrested for drunk driving last year.

Professional golfer Rachel Connor was also arrested for DUI earlier last year.
