'Seinfeld' Reunion Confirmed by Jerry, 'Secret Project' Coming 'Very Soon'

Jerry Seinfeld created a frenzy of speculation over a "Seinfeld" reunion while in New York City with co-star Jason Alexander earlier this month, but the actor is now offering more information.

On Jan. 13, an online photo went viral of Seinfeld and Alexander walking into Tom's Restaurant, the eatery made famous on "Seinfeld." The image excited fans of the long-running comedy series who flooded social media sites with speculation, putting the rumor mill in full swing.

Rumors surrounding Seinfeld and Alexander's presence at the Manhattan diner included a possible Super Bowl ad or a part of Seinfeld's web series "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee." However, Seinfeld himself said, "It's neither," while speaking to a New York radio show on Thursday.

"It's a secret project," the comedian cryptically added while on WFAN's "Boomer & Carton" show.

The 59-year-old actor went on to clarify that there is some kind of "Seinfeld" reunion in the works.

"I gave you more now than I've given anyone," Seinfeld said. "I told you what it isn't. And then I also told you that it isn't not that, either."

With that, the dissatisfied radio show hosts persuaded Seinfeld to answer during a game of 20 questions when the actor confirmed that the "secret project" was in fact filmed with other "Seinfeld" characters. Among the most exciting revelations was that Alexander appears in character as George Constanza in the "short-ish" feature, according to Seinfeld.

"No, he remembers that he played that character for many years," Seinfeld jokingly explained, recalling the phone call to Alexander about reprising his role of George. "He was not surprised that he was asked to play George."

Furthermore, the actor said that Larry David who co-created "Seinfeld" is involved, and that the public will see the project "very, very soon." Read the full exchange on CBS Local here.

"Seinfeld" ran on NBC for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998, and it remains popular in syndication today. Seinfeld starred as a fictionalized version of himself alongside Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards, among others.
