'Sherlock' Season 4 Spoilers and Updates: Is This the TV Series Last Season? Steven Moffat Hints End of Installment

Due to High Demand of the Actors, "Sherlock" Season 4 Might Be the Last Season of the Popular Mini-series

The next season of "Sherlock" could possibly be its last.

Leads Are High in Demand

Benedict Cumberbatch has become in demand in movies, so is Martin Freeman. He is said to be doing the mini-series out of loyalty to its supporters. Steven Moffat, one of the showrunners of the show, expressed his amazement that BBC Worldwide still managed to get Cumberbatch, who plays the famous detective, and Freeman, his trusted sidekick doctor, to do a fourth season.

Moffat told Telegraph that "Sherlock" Season 4 could be the end of the mini-series. "I don't know how long we can keep it going. I'm personally willing but I'm hardly the main draw. I would be moderately surprised of this was the last time we ever made this show. But it absolutely could be."

Since the release, the contemporary version of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories became one of the most popular programs in BBC. Their most successful episode was their New Year's special entiled "Abominable Bride."

The Abominable Bride's Success

Released on the first day of 2016, "The Abominable Bride" garnered 12 million viewers on BBC. It was also the largest international export of the corporation. The special was sold to broadcasters in 216 foreign codes over the past year. "The Abominable Bride" was also released on the big screen, topping box offices in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Russia. It also sold 190,000 tickets in Canada and the United States.

Season 4 Spoilers

He will be introduced in the second episode of the three-part series. Jones was famous for his role in Chris Evan's "Captain America: The First Avenger" as a biochemist who experimented with Captain America's best friend, Bucky.

Jones was also part of the film "Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets." He was the voice behind the famous house elf, Dobby.

Cumberbatch and Freeman's Upcoming Projects

The award-winning actor will be seen on the big-screen this coming November 4. Cumberbatch will portray Stephen Strange, the world's top neurosurgeon. Stephen was involved in a car accident that ruined his career. He then sets forth on a journey of healing and meets the Ancient One who later became his mentor.

Martin Freeman will be on the small screen this September 4. "StartUp" is an upcoming American TV series, with Freeman taking up as one of its main cast. His character name is Phil Rask.
