'Shokugeki no Soma' Latest News: Which Manga Volumes Will a Possible Fourth Season Cover? Will Risa Taneda Return as Erina?

The manga volumes that the possible fourth season of "Shokugeki no Soma" will cover will be dependent on what arcs season 3 will tackle. Meanwhile, Risa Taneda could return to voice Erina if "Shokugeki no Soma" continues with a fourth installment.

The fourth season, anticipated to be titled "Shokugeki no Soma: Shi no Sara" or "Food Wars: The Fourth Plate," will have enough Manga volumes to cover for their storyline if pushed through. However, it will depend on which volumes season 3 or "The Third Plate" will use.

According to the Inquisitr, season 3 began with chapter 118 of the Manga series, including the one where they introduced Totsuki's Elite 10. Season 3 also includes The Moon Banquet Festival arc — which spans around 17 chapters — and the Central Arc, which will have more chapters than the former.

Season 3 is anticipated to end somewhere between chapters 167 and 172 for it to have an ending that will satisfy the viewers. Currently, "Shokugeki no Soma" is up to volume 26 with 226 chapters. This leaves the anticipated "The Fourth Plate" more or less 54 chapters to use for its storyline.

Meanwhile, Taneda could return to voice Erina if "Shokugeki no Soma" continues with season 4.

Taneda went on hiatus in August last year because she had to undergo medical treatment for certain health concerns. The voice actress has previously announced that she would soon return to voice acting.

However, her return did not make it in time for the productions of "Shokugeki no Soma" season 3. Hisako Kanemoto took Taneda's place in voicing Erina for that season.

Although there are still concerns about returning to lengthy recording sessions could affect Taneda's road to recovery, the voice actress can still return to voicing Erina for the anticipated "Shokugeki no Soma: Shi no Sara" if she has completely recovered in 2018.

"Shokugeki no Soma: Shi no Sara," if it pushes through, is anticipated to premiere in January 2019.
