Sims 4 'Back To Work' DLC for PC and Mac Gets Earlier Release Date

The new "Back to Work" DLC for "Sims 4" will be released a month sooner than expected for PC and Mac.

Electronic Arts has announced it will be making available new downloadable content for "Sims 4" with its "Get To Work" expansion pack on March 31, instead of the earlier scheduled April release date.

The update's early release surprised fans of the game who have become accustomed to DLC delays. It is the first major expansion pack to be released since the game was launched last September.

The expansion pack allows players to choose from three brand new career paths, which feature enterable lots and the players' actions that impact their Sim's job performance. The three career routes include detective, scientist and doctor, which appear to share similar elements with "The Sims 3: Ambitions."

The science career has proven to be the most interesting one in the expansion pack, allowing Sim scientists to experiment with combined chemicals that they can use on themselves or on other Sims, resulting in either physical or emotional catastrophes.

The doctor route will see the Sim learning to diagnose and treat patients, and eventually deliver Sim babies, while the detective career path has Sims facing danger to solve crimes. The expansion pack will usher in the advent of "bad Sims" who will be committing murder, a first for the game franchise.

The new DLC will allow Sims 4 players to open and operate their own retail establishments, similar to "The Sims 2: Open for Business," with options for boutiques, bake shops, photography studios, and clothing stores. Players will also see more options to spy on their Sims while they are at work.

The "Back To Work" expansion pack will retail for $40 when it is released at the end of the month.
