The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact is the latest smartphone added to the phone's Xperia Z range, and though it costs less than the original Z3, Sony did not compromise when it comes to the device's features, which proves that sometimes, the best things do come in small packages.

Though it's all about big phones nowadays, those who are looking for a smaller phone with chock-full of pleasing features may want to check out the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact.

Design:
The device takes much of it design cues from the original Xperia Z3. It measures 5 x 2.56 x 0.34 inches and weighs 4.55 ounces and is IP68 certified, making it dust and waterproof and it can be submerged up to 1.5 meters in fresh water.

The smartphone's edge has a translucent plastic material surrounding it, which helps protect the device from accidental drops.

The Xperia Z3 Compact comes in four colors— white, black, orange, and grey. The orange and green versions both have a black front, while the white variant is white from front to back.

Features:
The Xperia Z3 Compact has an IPS LCD 4.6-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. Even viewed in direct sunlight, one will find that images and text can be viewed with no difficulty at all. It has a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat.

Sony has crammed a lot of its own apps into the device, which includes the company's video streaming and rental service Video Unlimited, Music Unlimited, and the PlayStation Network. The phone also has Remote Play, which lets PlayStation 4 owners stream games from the gaming console to the Z3 Compact.

The phone has one of the best main cameras around as it is equipped with a 20MP main shooter at the back, while the 2.2MP front-facing camera takes good selfies.

The Xperia Z3 Compact comes with 16GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 128GB with a microSD card.

The Sony Xperia Z3 Compact costs $700 without contract.
