'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC Free Content Latest Update: EA Promises More Free Content Coming Soon

The recently released science fiction shooter "Star Wars Battlefront" has been criticized for lacking content. According to a report in VG24/7, the game was "universally criticized" for its "content problem" which some experts are saying will result in players losing interest in the game pretty quickly. Publisher Electronic Arts was quick to remedy this problem by announcing that the game will be receiving loads of free content soon.

This announcement was made soon after EA unveiled "The Battle of Jakku" DLC, which is the first DLC pack that the game will be getting after its launch. "The Battle of Jakku" DLC will bring two new maps on the planet Jakku and will be featuring the siege that eventually led to what the planet will be like in the movie "The Force Awakens." One of these maps is called the Graveyard of Giants which is said to be suited for the Walker Assault mode of the game. The DLC will also introduce a new gameplay mode Turning Point which tasks the Rebels to capture one of three Imperial control points, after which more control points will be open for possible capture and thereby allowing the Rebels to take full control of the Imperial base.

According to another report in IGN, EA wrote in the game's official website that game developer DICE is planning to add free content in addition to the paid content that is included in the game's Season Pass. The Battle of Jakku is only the beginning of such free content, according to EA.

Executive Vice President of EA Patrick Söderlund said, "We are planning to support Star Wars Battlefront with new content well into the future. We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass."

As far as release dates are concerned, neither EA nor DICE mentioned when these new content will be making its way to the game.
