'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Plot Rumors, News: Opening Sequence Spoilers Revealed

Another day means another "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" rumor is coming up ahead. This recent one details the upcoming film's opening sequence.

A recent scoop from Making Star Wars indicates that the opening sequence will involve an accidental discovery of a lightsaber by a lowly villager living in a savannah environment.

"The film does open with a lightsaber in space. It falls to the ground in a savannah environment during the day. It is quickly discovered by a farmer named Naka. Naka accidentally ignites the weapon and starts a fire with it. At first he runs, but then turns around and obtains the weapon. I assume he snatches the weapon so it is not destroyed in the fire. Naka then takes the weapon to his elder called The Vicar," Making Star Wars detailed out.

The Vicar, who is reported to be played by Max von Sydow, will then contact the Rebels which brings Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) to the place in order to retrieve the weapon.

Dameron soon realizes he was followed by the Empire to the location.

"Poe sees Stormtroopers are coming and he places the laser sword safely in a little droid: BB-8. The droid flees and the heroic Poe Dameron prepares to fight!" the site went on to say.

According to the website, this sequence will see Finn (John Boyega) who loses his best friend during the encounter.

As the battle escalates, Finn allows some innocent villagers to escape, which then alerts Kylo Ren, who orders his arrest and the village to be annihilated.

Given his good nature, Finn then finds himself in in the brig of a Star Destroyer with Poe in it.

The situation forged Finn and Poe an unlikely partnership where the former shared his knowledge about the brig's schematics and the latter flew them out for safety.

The two then plan to steal a TIE Fighter which, according to Screen Rant, would "set the core plot in motion."

More of this remains to be seen when J.J. Abrams-helmed "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens in theaters Dec. 18.
