'Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void' News: Prologue 'Whispers of Oblivion' Coming Soon

With the "Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void" in closed-beta and without a definite release date in sight yet, Blizzard seems to think they need to appease fans who are eagerly waiting for the next expansion pack of "Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty." During the E3 2015, the developer announced that they are releasing a prologue to the upcoming expansion pack.

According to a report in Tech Times, the prologue "Whispers of Oblivion," is said to bridge the storyline and events between the 2011 "Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm" and the upcoming "Legacy of the Void."

"Whispers of Oblivion" is a special three-mission series and it will be available for free to players of "Legacy of the Void." This also means that if players want to get early access to the prologue, they need to pre-purchase the upcoming expansion pack and wait for news when it will be available.

According to the report, Blizzard will start adding the prologue to "Legacy of the Void," which is currently undergoing a closed beta since late March of this year.

"Whispers of Oblivion" is said to include a first-ever Zeratul mission since "Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty." New warriors and machines will also be introduced such as Adept, Cyclone, Disrupter, Ravager and Lurker.

The full expansion pack "Legacy of the Void" will contain 20 missions with a focus on Protoss, one of the tribes featured in the game, and has Artanis as its protagonist. This is the second expansion pack of "Starcraft II." This particular expansion pack is a standalone one and therefore will not require purchasing the original or base game.

"Starcraft II" is one of the fastest-selling real-time strategy video games in gaming history. Since its release in 2010, it is said to have sold over three million copies in just one month. Gaming critics have also given positive reviews of the game. It is a PC-only game, available for Windows and OS X.
