Steam Winter Sale 2015: Up to 90% Off on Thousands of Games Including 'Resident Evil' Titles, 'Street Fighter,' 'Grand Theft Auto V,' 'The Witcher 3,' and More

Valve's platform has finally gotten into the holiday spirit and has announced its Steam Winter Sale 2015. This year, nearly 10,000 games have been discounted for up to 90 percent.

Steam announced the sale through a blog post at its official site. A total of 9,997 titles are on sale, as well as software and a number of exclusive trading cards.

A wide variety of games have been discounted, ranging from high-profile titles to indie games.

Titles from popular series like "Resident Evil" and "Street Fighter" can be bought for less during Steam's holiday sale.

  • "Ultra Street Fighter IV" (66 percent off)
  • "Super Street Fighter IV" (50 percent off)
  • "Resident Evil 4" (66 percent off)
  • "Resident Evil 5" (66 percent off)
  • "Resident Evil 6" (75 percent off)
  • "Resident Evil Revelations" (70 percent off)

Several new games are also included in the sale such as:

  • "Grand Theft Auto V" (40 percent off)
  • "Rocket League" (30 percent off)
  • "Starwhal" (75 percent off)
  • "This War of Mine" (66 percent off)
  • "Ark: Survival Evolved" (40 percent off)
  • "Just Cause 3" (20 percent off)
  • "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" (25 percent off)
  • "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" (75 percent off)

Here are a few of the indie games currently on sale. These include new releases as well.

  • "Ori and the Blind Forest" (40 percent off)
  • "Undertale" (20 percent off)
  • "Adventure in the Tower of Flight" (new release, 75 percent off)
  • "Rust" (50 percent off)
  • "King's Quest" (90 percent off)
  • "Frizzy" (new release, 40 percent off)
  • "Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide" (15 percent off)
  • "Hurtworld" (20 percent off)
  • "Brothers - A Tale of Two Sons" (90 percent off)

This year's Steam Winter Sale features fixed discounts on titles until the end of the sale period. In previous years, Steam had offered variable discounts over time, along with other surprise discounts, according to Ars Technica.

Steam Winter Sale 2015 started on Tuesday, Dec. 22, and will last through the New Year until Jan. 4 at 10 a.m. Pacific.
