'Stranger Things' Season 2 Updates: Duffer Brothers Confirm Series to End with a Cliffhanger Anew

While "Stranger Things" season 2 is not expected to arrive before Halloween, the Duffer brothers have already confirmed that the upcoming season of the original Netflix series will once again feature a cliffhanger.

The first season finale of "Stranger Things" featured some open-ended scenes, including Jim Hopper (David Harbour) placing a crate of Eggo waffles in the forest which made viewers speculate that Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) is alive, and Will (Noah Schnapp) coughing up a slug, leading some to suspect that he may be harboring the eggs of the Demogorgon.

While the trailer of "Stranger Things" season 2 has already confirmed that Eleven is alive, no one outside the production of the Netflix series exactly knows what the implications of Noah coughing up a slug are. However, as already reported earlier, things are not looking good for him in the upcoming season 2.

At the recently concluded Emmy 2017 Awards, the Duffer brothers have confirmed that, just like the season 1 finale, "Stranger Things" season 2 will also end with a cliffhanger that will serve as the groundwork for its season 3. After all, the globally popular series has already been renewed for a third season.

"It wraps up very nicely I think... people will feel satisfied. There's a hint of what is to come," Matt, one of the Duffer brothers duo, said at 2017 Emmy Awards red carpet.

Meanwhile, apart from confirming that "Stranger Things" season 2 with another cliffhanger, the Duffer brothers also revealed that fans can expect more from Eleven in the upcoming season. According to Ross, the other half of the Duffer brothers, they decided to let Eleven experience a roller coaster of emotions in "Stranger Things" season 2 since the character blew everyone away in the previous season.

"She has hair... she can complete sentences," Matt told TV Line at the Emmy Awards 2017 red carpet as he talked about what the viewers can expect from the fan-favorite "Stranger Things" character.

"Stranger Things" season 2 arrives on Netflix this Oct. 27.
