'Street Fighter V' News and Character Updates: 2017 DLC to Introduce New Playable Characters? Oro Hugely Favored by Fans

The immensely popular fighting video game franchise "Street Fighter 5" has been out for quite a while now, and Capcom just keeps making the game more exciting with every new update.

2017 DLC to Introduce New Characters?

Capcom, the hit video game developer and publisher, had just recently introduced Urien as the newest playable character in "Street Fighter 5." The character was an interesting supplement to the overall game as he balances out the other characters. Next year, however, will be a lot more riveting for fans of the franchise.

Players of "Street Fighter 5" may be greeted with new faces in 2017. Reports about the upcoming characters for the game set to be released next year have been surfacing online. Several months ago, there has been a roster that was posted online. This list allegedly comprised the new characters to be included in the 2017 downloadable content of "Street Fighter 5."

Possible Characters

The leaked report claims that Oro, Sodom, Abel, Sagat, Q, and Rose are those that would be available to the players when the update arrives. However, some online users have dismissed the report to be fake, as it is unusual for Capcom to include only one female character in the lineup for "Street Fighter 5."

There were those who believe the integrity of the report though. The inclusion of Oro in the lineup would validate the report's claim. This is due to the fact the character of Oro had only been seen in "Street Fighter 3," but was supposed to eventually appear on "Street Fighter 5" via the 2017 expansion.

Bringing Oro's Story

Expectedly, Capcom has not said any official word yet regarding the identity of the included characters in the upcoming 2017 patch for "Street Fighter 5." However, it is safe to assume that the company will be introducing six new characters next year, as they did the same this year. Oro is one of the most likely candidates for this appearance, mainly due to his popularity and significant storyline.

The compelling back story of Oro's character sees him being determined to bring Ryu to his full potential. This is because Oro deems Ryu as the worthy inheritor of his secrets in martial arts. This plot line could serve an important role in "Street Fighter 5," as the game's story mode sees the main character conquering the dark force Satsui no Hado. It would be possible for Oro to eventually meet Ryu and see the protagonist growing up and purposefully utilizing his maximum potential.
