'Suicide Squad' News: Deadshot and Harley Quinn Photo Spark Romance Rumors

A new photo has recently been released by Warner Bros. as part of its campaign to boost the interest of fans for "Suicide Squad" and in the image, Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn are featured.

First unveiled by the Los Angeles Times as part of its list of summer movies to be anticipated, the photo has sparked speculations of a romance between Deadshot and Quinn, somehow resonating previous rumors that there might be some sort of a love triangle in the film.

In the image, Quinn smiles seductively at Deadshot as it appears that the latter is telling a story or saying something that interests Quinn.

According to The International Business Times, there is a huge possibility that director David Ayer has decided to open doors for a romantic storyline for the characters. In the comic books, Quinn kidnaps Deadshot in attempts to communicate with the Joker. In the ordeal, the two somehow get involved in a fling and Deadshot uses the opportunity to escape prison.

It is unclear how Ayer will present the story or how deep the alleged romantic storyline will be depicted, considering that Jared Leto's Joker is just around the bend in the upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, there is also a lot of buzz regarding the DC movie's ability to conquer the taste of critics in terms of being a better motion picture than "Captain America: Civil War." While the Marvel film definitely has a lot of support both in fandom and critic likability, some believe that it will be overpowered by "Suicide Squad" when it comes to securing a spot in the list of better films.

Movie Web suggests that there are several reasons why Ayer's could be a more reasonable movie for critics including the fact that DC has Jared Leto, an Academy Awards winner who definitely knows how to play his cards well with a complex character as the Joker.

Another good reason according to the outlet is the curiosity factor that Ayer has instilled in moviegoers. It is already crystal clear that someone will have to die in the squad no matter what but the interesting part is, no one knows just yet who it is.

"Suicide Squad" hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
