Super Bowl is 'Holy of Holies,' Singer Says

Super Bowl 2012 has a lot of promises attached to it.

First, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady promised a win when he announced his plans for a victory party to a stadium of screaming fans last week.

Now, Madonna is promising the "greatest show on Earth" for her halftime perfomance.

The big promise was made for the big game, which is steeped in a tradition of big-named acts performing mid-game.

"Oh my God, I'm so nervous, you have no idea," Madonna told Anderson Cooper during a pre-taped appearance Thursday on his daytime talk show.

"First of all, it's the Super Bowl. I mean the Super Bowl is kind of like the holy of holies in America right? ... I have to put on the greatest show on earth, in the middle of the greatest show on earth. I have eight minutes to set it up and seven minutes to take it down and 12 minutes to put on the greatest show on earth. That's a lot of pressure," said the singer.

Madonna did not disclose what would make this the greatest show on Earth because she wants them "knocked out of their seats from beginning to end."

Fans reportedly will hear hits, such as "Vogue," "Ray of Light" and "Music."

Though the singer hasn't officially announced which team she'll be rooting for, she did hint that the New York Giants may be her team.

The singer reportedly is impressed with some of the touchdown dance moves the Giants players have.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz performs a salsa-style dance in the end zone after he scores.

"I have absolutely no criticism of his moves. In fact, he's inspired me," Madonna said about the wide receiver's moves.

The pop star promised to perform an appropriate show for the family event.

"The envelope I'm pushing is just for a spectacular show, which I think will entertain all age groups and hopefully will be a feast for the eyes and the ears," she said.
