Super Smash Bros 4 'Gerudo Valley' Stage in 3DS Version Displayed in New Photo

A new stage for Super Smash Bros 4 is displayed in Masahiro Sakurai's pic of the day from yesterday.

The game's director posted up an image that features the Gerudo Valley stage from the 3DS version of the fighting series on the MiiVerse Tuesday. See it here.

"This is the final destination version of Gerudo Valley," wrote Sakurai. "No more surprise visits from Koume and Kotake, and the bridge is gone. There are no distractions and there's nowhere to run. And the score that plays in the background is "Gerudo Valley."

Sakurai also published multiple pictures last week that showed off the 3DS version. He gave a brief description of the Power Ups in Smash Run last Friday.

"Your character starts a Smash Run as a relatively ordinary fighter. But before the game, you can outfit yourself with certain items that can help power you up early, which will give you a big advantage later on!! These items are much like the Powers you'd find in Kid Icarus: Uprising," said Sakurai.

The new Super Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U were originally rumored to be coming out in spring 2014, according to a Nintendo executive from Germany, but the company now claims that information was based on a misquote.

Nintendo's Bernd Fakesch held an interview with Neckar-chronik.de last year regarding upcoming releases for the company. Fakesch was quoted as saying the game would be arriving.

"For next spring two more big license games are also announced for our TV console with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros," read the quote.

A Nintendo representative contacted VG247 to inform them of the misquote.

"We would like to clarify that the speculation about a Spring 2014 launch date for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U was the result of a misquotation in an interview," they said.
