'Supernatural' Season 12 Episode 13: Lucifer's Son Gets a New Protector

The hunt for Lucifer's love child is officially on in the upcoming episode of "Supernatural." Which side will end up earning poor Kelly Kline's (guest star Courtney Ford) trust?

In the episode titled "Family Feud," the synopsis reveals that both angels and demons are coming after the nephilim. The human mother, the president's aide, still has no idea what she is nurturing inside her womb. That is why, when forces of nature that she cannot explain start targeting her, she does not know how to act. Unfortunately for the angels' side, Kelly will be forced to accept the offer of protection of a certain demon after a busted attempt to kill her. Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are doing their best to track down what is happening with Lucifer's baby, but they also have other urgent cases to handle.

The Winchesters will be investigating a peculiar death that took place in a museum. They think a ghost is responsible for what happened. Sam and Dean will discover that a merchant ship that sank in 1723 holds the key to the mystery. When they find out that Crowley (Mark Sheppard) is somehow connected to the case, they will ask him and his mother, Rowena (guest star Ruth Connell), for help. It appears that the culprit is Crowley's son, Gavin McLeod (guest star Theo Devaney). He was supposed to be one of the passengers of the doomed ship. Rowena will use her witch powers to locate her grandson. What kind of family reunion will they have?

Meanwhile, showrunner Andrew Dabb recently hinted to Entertainment Weekly that Lucifer will soon return and that he will likely possess another human body. He was previously sent to the bottom of the ocean by Rowena but he is definitely still alive. Viewers can expect that he will want to see his nephilim offspring soon.

"In terms of Lucifer: he's a character that even when he's back in the cage, he's been active in our world. I think the fact that he's got a kid rolling around out there, he's not dead. He is still a player in some ways. I think we're dealing with a world where even if Lucifer is off the table in some ways, his influence will still be felt," the EP said, according to EW.

"Supernatural" season 12 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on the CW.
