'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers, Casting News: 'All Bets Off' in Finale, Misha Collins Hired as Series Regular

New reports about "Supernatural" star Misha Collins are giving fans of The CW series yet another reason to look forward to season 10 this week.

The television series wraps up its ninth season this Tuesday with an episode entitled "Stairway to Heaven," but news about season 10 is already making waves. Spoilers about the forthcoming season of the drama were released online indicating that Collins, who portrays Castiel, has been hired as a regular cast member for the 10th season, according to E! News.

Castiel has become a fan favorite, but it remained unknown if Collins would sign on as a regular actor on the series until now. The actor previously discussed the initial reaction "Supernatural" viewers' had to his character.

"At first, people were wary of anybody coming in that might take attention away from Sam and Dean, but [now] it's like, 'All right, there's a little extra room,'" he said, according to AfterElton.com.

Nevertheless, details about Castiel's role in the season finale on May 13 are scarce. Fortunately, supervising producer Andrew Rabb said fans can count on Castiel making a big impact in the culmination of season nine.

"He is part of the mythology as he has been in seasons past for us," Rabb told E! News. "He plays big in the last [few] episodes … As far as next season goes, look- we love Misha. Misha's awesome. I have a hard time imagining the show without him."

Also, previous reports revealed that the Winchester brothers Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will join forces with Castiel in the season finale, resulting in "shocking consequences," according to show runner Jeremy Carver.

"All bets are off when Sam, Dean and Castiel take the right to Metatron," Carver previewed. "Uneasy alliances and choices await … all culminating in shocking consequences."

"Supernatural" airs on the CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
