Supernatural Season 9 Spoilers: Rumors of Grandpa Winchester, New Episode to Be Directed by Misha Collins
"Supernatural" fans are gearing up for the forthcoming Misha Collins-directed episode, but can they also look forward to the return of Grandpa Winchester?
According to spoilers available online this week, the Men of Letters alum is returning with an unforeseen satanic companion- the murderous Abaddon, portrayed by Alaina Huffman. The female character was known in the 1950s as Josie Sands and is a Knight of Hell. Abaddon was linked to Henry Winchester and his clan before she decimated the Men of Letters in "As Time Goes By."
"Supernatural" viewers first met Henry Winchester during a brief appearance in season eight. The grandfather left the Men of Letter's bunker to his grandsons during the episode. However, Sam (portrayed by Jared Padalecki) will stumble upon the family inheritance during an investigation of a series of alleged possessions in "Mother's Little Helper."

Meanwhile, the Collins-directed episode will see Sam on his own while the special installment flashes back to the late 1950's. The show will reveal what Winchester and a Knight of Hell were doing together, ensuring a surprise for audiences everywhere.
"Guess the cat is out of the bag," one of the television series' writers, Adam Glass, posted to Twitter once news of Winchester's return leaked online. "What I wouldn't do to surprise you #Supernatural fans just once!"
Nevertheless, this week's episode is entitled "Blade Runners." The synopsis on TV Guide is as follows: "Sam and Dean get help from a former member of the Men of Letters to locate the First Blade, after Crowley falls off the wagon and starts injecting himself with human blood. To make matters worse, a demon betrays Crowley and tells Abaddon that the Winchesters are searching for the First Blade."
"Supernatural" airs in CW Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
