Taylor Swift's 'Shake it Off' is America's Top-Selling Single, Album to Be Released on Oct. 27

Taylor Swift has repeated her record-breaking streak as the first single off her 1989 album, "Shake it Off," is currently at the top of the charts.

According to HeadlinePlanet.com, the single has garnered more than 340,000 paid downloads over the past week, and it is now close to hitting the one million sales mark.

"Shake it Off" has reportedly made a two-week total of 884,000. With a record like this, it won't be a surprise if the single does hit the million mark this coming week.

In an interview with Capital FM, Swift opened up about her new album and what's in store for her fans, collectively known as Swifties.

"One of the things you can expect is that I'm really trying to challenge myself in every single way possible to make music that doesn't sound like music I've made before," said Swift. "When you get into the album there are a lot of late eighties sounds and vocal stylings and production elements."

"We were just really playing around with this album and didn't limit ourselves. What ended up happening was we made an album that really sounds like an album, it's really sonically cohesive, and I'm really proud of it," added the singer.

The 22-year old also revealed that one of her best friends, Ed Sheeran, has heard most of the songs on the album ahead of everybody else.

"He has heard a lot of the new album, he's got the inside scoop. I doubt he'll tell though!" said Swift.

But fans want to know: will there be any more references about Swift's ex-boyfriends on any of the songs?

Though the singer has been very open about referencing her exes on her songs, Swift said that one song in the album is about proving that you can "do it" on your own without needing a man or a relationship.

1989 will be released on Oct. 27.
