'Teen Mom 2' Jenelle Evans Files for Divorce from Courtland Rogers

"Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans is one step closer to being a free woman after finally filing for divorce from husband Courtland Rogers. The two have been separated for some time, but North Carolina law required them to be legally separated for one year before either could file for divorce.

"Jenelle is only seeking a divorce from Mr. Rogers at this time," Evans' attorney Dustin Sullivan told E! News. "She is not seeking any support of any kind. She is looking forward to a new chapter in her life."

Evans has indeed moved on with her life, having a serious relationship with Nathan Griffith and becoming pregnant with his child, a son. She has worked to remain sober during her pregnancy, both for the baby and for her older son, Jace. Evans previously said that she had worked out a deal with her mother, Barbara, who has custody of Jace. If she remains sober for one year, she can file to regain custody of the 4-year-old.

Rogers has had serious legal troubles, spending a great deal of time in jail after violating probation and pleading guilty to assaulting Evans and their unborn child. However, he has seemingly turned his life around and wished Evans a happy life and future with Griffith. It was a change of pace given that Rogers reportedly did not know Evans was pregnant with, and then aborted, his own child while he was behind bars.

Evans and Griffith have had troubles of their own in the relationship – calls of domestic disturbance landed Evans in jail even though both admitted to fighting. Viewers of "Teen Mom 2" watched as the couple had several communication issues in the beginning of their relationship but decided to try for a baby anyway. The couple is now expecting their first child together, a son, this summer. And if all works out for Evans, she will soon have custody of Jace again as well.
