"Teen Mom" Amber Portwood is being forced by a court order to pay $673 to the rental home company she formerly lived in. According to reports, Portwood committed fraud by claiming she qualified for government assistance and must pay within 30 days or face further legal action.

Portwood, who lives in Indiana, was a resident in an apartment subsidized by the government. She claimed she qualified for the assistance due to her low income of only $30,000 to $40,000. In actuality, she made $280,000 for that year, and when the rental company discovered the fraud, they evicted Portwood.

She now lives with her grandparents, and shares custody of her daughter Leah with former fiancé, Gary. Portwood has had a tumultuous history throughout the filming of MTV's reality hit "Teen Mom," going to jail for domestic abuse, drug use and receiving treatment for housing.

Judge David Happe, the presiding judge of Portwood's case, heard testimony as to why Portwood should be allowed to move in with her grandparents instead of being sent to jail for a five-year term. "I want to possibly get my family back," Portwood insisted.

"I have been doing pills for eight years, since I was 13, and since then I have never been drug free until I detoxed. I think about my daughter all the time and I did not really do that before. I always thought about when I was going to get more pills," she told Happe.

Her statements may have been without sincerity, however, as Portwood failed a drug test and has not shown for her mandatory Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. If Judge Happe had his way, Portwood would be in mandatory rehabilitation. Unfortunately, the halfway house Portwood applied to live in rejected her application, stating that she was too much of a handful.
