"Teen Mom" star Leah Messer has married fiancé, Jeremy Calvert, one year after divorcing the father of her children, Cory Simms. The small wedding took place last week, according to reports.
"Everybody was happy and joyful and took a ton of pictures," Reverend Marty Gute told the Daily Independent. "I think they wanted to keep it out of the news," he explained of the couple's decision for a low-key ceremony, "but the producer said he knew it would hit Facebook soon."
Gute received a call from MTV producers asking him for permission to film the ceremony inside his church.
"When I asked what was going on, they said it was for the Leah Simms wedding, and that name didn't ring a bell at first," he said. But his daughter was able to quickly tell him who she was and fill him in on Messer's history.
The teen mom has two girls, Aliannah and Aleeah, who were both in their mother's wedding. Messer's pregnancy, marriage, and divorce have played out for the American public on MTV's hit series "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom." She and boyfriend, now ex-husband Cory Simms only dated for one month before Messer learned she was pregnant.
They wed in 2010, but filed for divorce after it was revealed that Messer had cheated on Simms before the wedding. She has been dating Jeremy Calvert since the divorce and was pregnant but miscarried that baby.
On April 5, 2012, Messer tweeted, "It's been a great morning," fueling speculation that something had happened between her and Calvert. Gute said that the show followed Messer and Calvert as they picked up their marriage license and wedding rings before coming to the church.
He added that the couple will more than likely have a larger wedding for more friends and family but wanted to marry closer to home. Only 15 to 20 people attended, according to The Daily Independent.
