'Tekken 7: Fated Retribution' Adds Nina Williams to Character Roster

The Irish assassin Nina Williams has been revealed to join "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution."

Bandai Namco announced during the Evo 2016 lineup that Nina will be a playable character in its new fighting game. Nina has appeared since the original game and returns once more in "Tekken 7."

Bandai Namco Japan's official YouTube channel posted the character's video reveal on Wednesday, Jan. 27. The video (below) showcases Nina's gameplay. It shows Nina fighting against Bryan Fury, dealing blows and other moves in her arsenal while dressed in a new costume. She's wearing a wedding gown, which is her new Fatal Bride costume. It remains to be seen how this change in wardrobe plays out in the game's storyline.

Nina joins Akuma from Capcom's "Street Fighter" franchise who has a major role in "Tekken 7's" plot. He is rumored to be available during the upcoming location testing at select arcades in Japan next month. "Tekken 7" will be tested at three Japanese arcades — Tokyo's Namco Sugamo, Osaka's Round One Stadium Sennichimae arcade, and Namco's Hakata Bus Terminal arcade in Fukuoka — on Feb. 12 to 14.

In addition to Nina's reveal, Bandai Namco also confirmed that "Tekken 7" will be part of its EVO 2016 lineup. The title joins "Street Fighter V," "Super Smash Bros. Melee," "Super Smash Bros. Wii U," "Pokken Tournament," "Mortal Kombat X," "Guilty Gear Xrd - Revelator," "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3," and "Killer Instinct." The fighting game tournament is scheduled to take place in Las Vegas from July 15 to July 17.

In addition to "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," Nina will also appear in "Tekken 7" Console Version, specifically Sony's PlayStation 4. Bandai Namco has not announced the title's release date yet. What's confirmed, though, is that "Tekken 7" will come with enhanced graphics and virtual reality capability.
