Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India., Nov. 25 - Even as top police officials were frequently patrolling the tension gripped areas of Debagarh district in Orissa, those who recently embraced Christianity continue to live in panic.

Though the Debagarh police is yet to arrest any culprit, it identified three persons in connection with last week's church ransacking incident.

When Christian Today contacted the Debgarh police, they said the culprits who set fire to the Bible and other leaflets near a busy traffic of Debagarh town have gone underground and their number would not cross 20. Highly placed sources in the police department said the three persons belong to Viswa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal and one of them is a reporter of local Oriya daily. The police suspects that the reporter instigated the activists to attack the church.

Earlier, the local police bluntly denied that there were 500 Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal activists who had gone to submit memorandum with the district magistrate. The incident was played up in media, said the police.
