Terrell Owens 2011: Ready for NFL Return - 'My Knee is Doing Great'

Terrell Owens, 37-year-old free agent wide out, should return to the football field in a month, according to the man himself.

In a recent interview with ESPN’S Stephen A. Smith, Owens said he was almost ready to return to the field. After knee surgery in the off season, Owens said whatever team decides to sign him should have high expectations.

"They gonna get the T.O. that they expect. Don't expect anything less."

Although Owens spoke with confidence, he admitted that the past year has been hard on him.

“It's been a tough year ever since i left Cincinnati,” Owens told Smith. “I've sustained a meniscus injury, shortly after that I sustained an ACL injury so really just going through that and going through some personal issues, personal problems within myself.”

Aside from his injuries, Owens spoke about financial issues that have been taking place in his life.

"I definitely have been going through a lot of personal problems and obviously I had a financial advisor that has misappropriated funds and taking advantage of a situation,” Owens told Smith.

With financial and health issues, some don’t believe Owens can do well on the field this season. One Twitter user expressed their feelings about Owens returning to the league.

“Terrell Owens needs to retire he can't be effective in the NFL anymore," one person tweeted.

However, Owen said his injuries have been improving and he is confident about playing again.

“Obviously everybody has been wondering what’s been going on with the knee so the knee is doing great,” said Owens.

The wide receiver maintained that he is the same player everybody watched get 72 receptions for 983 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Cincinnati Bengals.

“I'm not gonna waste your time, so I wouldn't expect you to waste my time,” Owens said, according to ESPN. “When I step on the field, you know what you gonna get."
