"…with a murder unsolved and a betrayal exposed, everyone's truth is suspect," the statement reads (via IBT).

Hinted previously, Season 2 will be even more exciting as viewers can now get a different perspective from the points of view of Cole and Helen on top of Alison and Noah's.

"…the story cracks wide open to reveal a complex web of intrigue and deceit more dangerous than anyone could have imagined," the site went on to say.

Quoting the words of Ruth Wilson, who plays Alison in the series, in a recent promo video, Season 2 will reveal the consequences that Noah and Alison have to face following their extra-marital affair. Making the problem even worse is that the results of their indiscretion will also take their toll on Cole and Helen's lives and this will further be unravelled when their respective points of view are shown.

Yahoo TV meanwhile gave some hints on what to expect about the kids on the show. The site divulged that although Noah and Helen's teenage daughter, Whitney, seems to be able to keep the effects of the situation at bay, their sons, Martin and Trevor are very much affected by the divorce.

The episode will see one son throwing some punches blindly on their father when he learns about the affair. The other one takes to himself and becomes physically ill.

Find out more of these intense developments when "The Affair" Season 2 airs Sundays, at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
