The Affair Season 3 Spoilers, Preview and Release Date: Will Helen Get Back Together with Noah?

Showtime's steamy drama, The Affair, is set to return for its third season on September.

Fans already know about the game-changing twists that the show is set to unleash, such as a new love interest involving Juliette de Gall (Irene Jacob) coming in between the titular affair of Noah (Dominic West) and Alison (Ruth Wilson). It will also have a three-year time jump to boot.

But in a shocking revelation of Maura Tierney, who plays Helen Solloway in the Hamptons-set drama, it was stated that she definitely wants her philandering husband back (Noah is just certifiably the worst).

Will Helen get back together with Noah?

In an interview with TVGuide, Tierney revealed that Helen definitely wants him back, thinking that Noah's return to her life could magically erase the problems that came before them.

In the show, Helen is Noah's jilted wife of twenty years and the mother of Noah's four children. She is still in love with her husband, despite his cheating and even though the marriage has been long over.

According to Tierney, this love has turned into a form of obsession. Even though she knows that Noah has lost all love for her already, Helen's just trying to hold it together.

How Season 3 will go

No worries, folks; Noah has passed to the point of no return and is unlikely to get back in Helen's loving arms. But, viewers can definitely look forward to how this will affect her in Season 3, which show creator Sarah Treem teased would explore the character's "dark sides."

Originally a series showing the perspectives of two adulterous lovers depicting the emotional effects of such a relationship, the show has expanded it into four. A fifth will come with de Gall's new character, who as an outsider could present a fresh new take on the unfurling emotional damage the titular affair is costing the characters.

The Season 2 finale left viewers gasping as they finally solved a two-year mystery: Who killed Scott? The finale revealed that a drunk Helen ran him over after Alison pushed him into the road.

The third season will delve into the consequences of that incident and how each character would cope with the trauma, saying that it's all their fault, Treem said.

If you're excited about the turnout, don't worry. The show will be back on air on November 20.
