'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Spoilers – Sheldon Is Heartbroken When He Goes To Propose To Amy

The upcoming episode titled, "The Spock Resonance" has guest star Adam Nimoy, Leonard Nimoy's son, make an appearance. In the meantime, Sheldon will be heartbroken when he plans to propose to Amy.

Viewers know that the legend Leonard Nimoy passed away earlier this year. To honour his memory, the writers of the show have incorporated Nimoy into this Thursday's episode and will feature Leonard's son, Adam.

In real life, Adam Nimoy is making a documentary titled "For the Love of Spock," which takes a look at the iconic man's life through the eyes of his colleagues and numerous fans.

Now in "The Big Bang Theory" series, Sheldon is a die-hard fan of Spock and Leonard Nimoy. So Adam, along with Wil Wheaton, comes to interview him for the documentary.

The official synopsis states: "While being interviewed for a documentary about Spock from 'Star Trek,' Sheldon struggles to suppress his emotions about his recent break-up with Amy. Also, Wolowitz and Bernadette butt heads over remodelling his childhood home."

During the interview, Sheldon takes out a box that has childhood collectibles and his family heirloom, the ring that he wants to propose to Amy with. Leonard and Penny are watching Sheldon being interviewed live when all of a sudden, Sheldon, while bringing out a Wil Wheaton collectible, also brings out "The Ring." He gets emotional and confesses that this was the ring that he wanted to give Amy before she suddenly ended things with him.

When Sheldon returns home, he tells Leonard & Penny that he will go to Amy and sort out matters with her. He told them that he also plans to propose to her.

But will it be so easy for Sheldon? To his great disappointment, when he reaches Amy's apartment, he sees Amy kissing a tall man goodnight. This scene breaks Sheldon's heart as Amy goes inside her apartment alone. What will happen next? Will Sheldon still pursue her? Will they get back together?

"The Big Bang Theory" returns to Thursday nights on CBS.
